Ink Drawings

This are my ballpoint pen series ranging from March 2023 to August 2024. I had a process of collecting as many pens as I could and testing their grit, gel adhesion, flexibility, and smoothness. After finding the best ball point pen for each project I would start with a light gesture with a mechanical pencil and added all the details based of my original composition. One challenge I decided to give myself was that I had to stick with the first gesture I did whether I was happy with it or not. This limitation caused me to learn how to work with what I had in lieu of erasing or blotting out spaces that weren’t working.
